World-scale Industrial Gas Complex Serving Bharat Petroleum

Air Products has built, owns and operates a world-scale industrial gas complex that supplies hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and steam to BPCL’s Kochi Refinery. The industrial gases manufactured at the complex have enabled BPCL to increase its refining capacity by nearly two-thirds, while producing cleaner auto-fuels that comply with Euro-IV/Euro-V specifications.

In addition, Air Products has built, owns and operates a syngas production facility at the refinery to supply BPCL’s Propylene Derivatives Petrochemical Project (PDPP). The syngas unit employs our proprietary cryogenic gas separation technologies to produce a hydrogen/carbon monoxide syngas to feed the PDPP.

The innovative combination of technologies deployed at the Kochi facility is a shining example of Air Products ability to execute essential industrial gas projects on a large scale for our valued customers all around the world.
